Howdy Folks,
Need a huge favor from any PSE Gurus out there. I have read a few earlier posts and realize that it might not be possible to upload a slideshow (7MB) created with PSE5 onto my website. Can I please get some assistance regarding this issue? I am at my wits end. I have also tried the .pdf and .wmv formats. My web host is Bravenet. Please HELP!!!!!
Sincerely,
ewip

Hi- What kind of error messages are you getting? Does your provider allow large files? Do you have a limit?

Hello Kay,
I am not getting an error message, using the ftp applet provided by the host. After this point the site doesn't allow/give an option to transfer the file to the webpage. I am allowed a total of 30GB disk space and 600 Gb Bandwidth. I hope this gives you enough info. I don't see any limits per say. Thanks for helping.
Sincerely,
ewip

Forgive me if I am unclear on what the problem is here.
Do you think the file uploaded ok?

If you think you have uploaded the file you need to put a link on your homepage so when visitors click on the link they will then see your slide show.

Hello JoJo,
The file is not uploading, I am not getting an option to transfer the slideshow. I am not sure if the web host "bravenet" is incapable to support FLASH, but I have tried pdf and wmv also w/o any luck. I hope someone can help me!!!
Thanks,
ewip

I was hoping someone would come along with more knowledge to help! I haven't recently tried to upload any slideshows to my website, but I have used Adobe Photoshop Showcase to upload a web gallery made in PSE5. In case you're interested, here's the site:

I don't think you should have any problem with either of those file types if you are a paying user.
Have you considered using a different way to upload your files?
You could download a free trial of Cute FTP and try that.

Edit: Kay, thanks for the link, that looks like a great service, I've book-marked that site for when I hopefully get 5.

ewip,

Unless everyone who visits your site is on broadband you might want to considering using a web gallery rather than a slideshow.

If you based your slideshow on a collection it should be easy to use that collection to make a webgallery version.

A web gallery consists of folders of html and jpg documents so there should be no trouble uploading them.

Thanks everyone, I just discovered that Bravenet did not have the FLASH feature, hence it was not possible to upload the file (they are adding it soon). Web Gallery is loaded rather imperfectly, if you care to checkout the site: www.edgewaterimaging.com Bravenet does provide the FTP service. However the quality of uploaded pictures is questionable to me. The original picture (mine) is flawless on the CD and looks terrible on the website. I guess I will keep working on it. :)

ewip,
Glad you got it some-what sorted, at least you now know why you could not get the file uploaded.
I like your image, it's a great scene and looks smashing to me :)
The pinkish/purple line probably detracts from it a little, don't know if you added that or is it there because it's hyper-linked.
Good luck with the web site :)
