Hi ,

I could use some help, I have a friend that accidently deleted photos from a SD Card, for some reason I think on this forum, this has come up in the past. Is there a way to retrieve them??

thanks
Gary

Gary,

I have never used this software, but the ad makes it sounds like it will do the job.

I am the last person to have any real 'knowledge' about this but I did just read that if your memory card is deleted via the computer that your images are still packed in there somewhere (so retrievable). If deleted (reformatted) via the camera they are gone. Just what I read:o

The best tool for recovering photos from memory cards is PhotoRescue (http://www.datarescue.com/photorescue/). They have a free trial version that will let you see what the SW can recover but won't actually save anything until you pay for the full version.

There are other programs out there such as Zero Assumption Recovery (http://www.z-a-recovery.com/), which has a free version but isn't as powerful and PC Inspector (http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/UK/welcome.htm), which used to have a free version but I don't know the current status.

Very few cameras perform destructive formats anymore. Almost any memory card can be recovered as long as it is still physically intact. In fact, you can even recover physically mangled memory cards as long as the memory chip is still intact. Of course, that will cost you two arms, a leg and your first-born.
