Smartcurve intall problems in PSE4!!!

So here is the problem...I already have installed this once and then my computer messed up and I have to reinstall everything on PSE 4(Long story)!! Well I have been trying to put this back on my computer and I did everything it said

"extract the files and put them into the plugin directory of Photoshop (something like C:\program files\adobe\Photoshop Elements\plug-ins). After the next restart a new entry easy.Filter/SmartCurve should appear in the Filter menu."

BUT IT IS NOT WORKING!!! WHAT AM I DOING WRONG???? PLEASE HELP ME! SOMEONE SUGGESTED I CAN FIX MY SHADOW PROBLEM WITH CURVES, BUT I CAN'T GET IT TO REINSTALL!!

I have tried adding all files and then just only adding the plugin file- it still is not working! I need serious help.

Monica,
It looks like you did it right. Have you actually looked into the Plug-Ins folder and checked if everything is there? Of course, you have exited and restarted Elements?

i tried that...do you think something is wrong with my my elements when I reinstalled it? I have used the smartcurve and they used to work, but now I can't reinstall it. Any thoughts?

If Elements is otherwise running normally, I do not think that there is any problem with it. You did not say that you checked if all files are in the Plug-Ins folder. Are they?
