I am new to Photoshop and have Adobe photoshop 7...Found this forum with a google search...

I have attached a picture found online and what I want to do is use the frame for this baseball card but put pictures from players in my baseball league in there to replace Bonds...

Any quick way to do this?...

I used the eraser tool to erase the Bonds image, is this the right first step?...Where do I go from there?...

Hello. Although this forum is for Photoshop Elements, I'm sure people here could help you.

I think, though, that you'd do better to create your own frame. In the first place, it's probably not approprieate to use someone else's work and then print cards for your team. But, despite what you decide about that, since this was posted on the internet, it will be at 72 dpi. When you print, you'll want to be closer to 300dpi, which will shrink the frame too small to use. If you'd like to work on creating your own frame, I know lots of us would be willing to help out. You can probably do something very similar. Just ask questions as you go along. And welcome!

Ok, sounds good...That is just a standard baseball card that can be found anywhere on the Net, I am not looking to "steal" anything...I can use any background, I suppose, and build from there, but I am NOT looking to print out baseball cards, I am simply looking to add these "baseball cards" for each player to my baseball website for our league...

I don't know if URLs are allowed in this forum (and please delete the URL if they aren't), but here is a sample page from my baseball website:

http://www.tricountyleague.com/Profiles/Coplay_Reds_pics.shtml

I am simply looking to take these pictures and turn them into "baseball card" format pics similar to what I saw on this page:

http://www.gabelsvilleowls.com/profiles/bohn.htm

If anyone has a somewhat quick explanation to get me on the right track, Great, or if you can point me to another forum, Great...

Thanx...

Hello and welcome to the forum. I have a tutorial on my site about Using Templates to Create Trading Cards (http://heart2heartdesigns.com/SiteResources/Data/Templates/ContentPackageLayout008.asp?docid=629&DocName=Trading%20Card%20Templates). We also have a set of Trading Card templates (http://www.heart2heartdesigns.com/siteresources/modules/webstore/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=79) available for purchase in our store. These templates were originally intended for people who wanted to print trading cards for personal use but I think they will work for your project.

Hope this helps!

Thanx, maybe I'll try that...

I guess my "quick" question is this:

In the photo I have attached a few posts above, I have the entire picture "erased" (did it in photoshop) in that baseball card and I believe it is transparent...But since I am using Photoshop for the first time, I am not sure how to get a headshot into that space...Seems like it has something to do with "layers", but since we are in the middle of the season, I don't have tons of time to try and teach myself Photoshop, was just hoping someone could point me in the right direction and give me a quick answer...I taught myself MS-Excel a few years back, but I had more free time then...Just hoping for a quick answer on this one if possible...

Thanx for all the responses though...

Hi ...

When you erased the centre section did it turn transparent ?? (should look like a grey & white checkerboard.

If so then just open up the image you want to add and do Select>All then Edit>Copy.

Now open up the image you want to add it too (your erased template) and do Edit>Paste.

Next to to the layers palette and you will see that you have two layer in there ... just drag the new layer below the old one and it should show through the gap :)

It may need resizing to fit the space ... if it does just ask and I will post some instructions :)

Thank you, Wendy...

Yes, it did work like a charm, but of course, now I do need to edit the picture inside the baseball card, so if you could add those instructions, that would be GREAT...

I will mess with it and see if I can stumble on how to do it in the meantime...

Hi ...

OK then here goes :)

Make sure that the layer is active (Just go the layers palette and click on it) then select the move tool and click on the image.
A box will appear around the photo ... this is called the bounding box.
Move your cursor into the corner and you will see it change to a line with an arrow at each end ... once it does that click the mouse you will then be able to adjust the size by dragging inwards (or out) ...

Hope that helps ... if you need more info then just ask :)
