Greetings,

I have Photoshop 7 and just picked up Elements 5.0 last week. I love the user friendly additions to Elements, but find myself immediately missing the 'patch tool', which seems to have it's place taken by the new 'spot healing brush'. Is this Elements' patch tool substitute or is there another tool I'm overlooking that does a similar job?? Thanks much!

Hi Mike ...

The Spot Healing Tool is a new tool which had been added to Photoshop and Elements ... it isn't an Elements replacement for the Patch Tool and I am afraid that Elements doesn't have the Patch Tool.

About the only workaround I can suggest is that you make a selection then move the selection to a similar area, feather it and copy and paste ... then move it into place and blend in the edges.

I have to admit... I played in CS2 a little while back and I thought the patch tool was wonderful. ;) :)

Hi Kimi ...

Oh it really is great for patching areas like grass ... those sort of areas where the clone tool takes forever to do :)
