Hi all, I wanted to share a few photos from my trip to the Smokies last week. Finally had a chance to get through them...They are in the Smugmug gallery below, if you would like to browse through.
To enlarge a photo, you can click twice. At the 2x size, it shows the detail a bit better....

Simone, the photos are all so beautiful. I couldn't pick a favorite. I thought I did and then I would click the next one and it was just as beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Simone: Every one of those is beautiful but I'm particularly taken by the sunset. Thanks for showing me part of the country I've never seen...

Thanks for looking and thanks so much for the kind comments. :)
This is, indeed, a beautiful area, quite unusual in the look of the hills/mountains. I normally think of "mountains" as the rocky, craggy type as in the Rockies, but these have a completely different look and with the heavy forestation it makes for some cool photo opps ... Thanks again.... I'll pick a few for the gallery...

Simone,
They're all great, but my favorite is the cabin with the split rail fence - just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Your pictures are great! You were in my backyard. If you happened to have passed through Maryville, that's where I'm from. You captured the beauty on the smokies very nicely. Unfortunately I don't have time to get up to mountains much. Life gets in the way, I guess.

I so appreciate your taking the time to look, and for the additional replies. I'm glad y'all enjoyed them.
For a chuckle, I finished processing this one- it was the "Best Find" of the trip. A tiny place with decent coffee! A Latte or Espresso in the mountains! Rustic to say the least, but it saved my life...:D

Simone- They're all great! I love the Smokies; I have great memories of trips there both as a child and with my husband. Where did you stay?

Kay, I stayed in Townsend, on the TN side. Rented a little house from the Tally Ho Inn very close to the park entrance. Rather rustic but did nicely.
Debcam, yes I did go through Maryville! And met several people touring the park that were from there. Actually another photobug carting a tripod around, who lived in Maryville. You certainly have lovely surroundings. :)
