I am think about moving from PSE3 to 5 but wonder if the sharpening techniques used in PSE5 are better than 3.0?
Can anyone advise? And overall how is the "Sharpening" option in PSE5? In PSE3.0 I was not impressed or pleased.
Thanks!

Definitely better. PSE5 has Enhance Sharpness (the equivalent of Smart Sharpen in full Photoshop) which I find works really well when set to Lens Blur. And the new ACR 4.1 which has just been released works in PSE5 (and it works for JPEGS as well as RAW files) has some new sharpening tools that sound good although I've only just started to play with them.

That said I don't recall PSE3 being particularly bad as long as you used the Unsharp Mask or some of other edge and luminosity sharpening techniques that people have developed (as I recall Sharpen and Sharpen More were pretty useless and the Quick Fix Sharpen wasn't that good either). But PSE5 is much better.

Thanks Tony! Yeah well my learning curve is a bit steep. I have a real difficult time with the "Sharpen Filter-USM". Can seem to get the hang of it OR the image I want to sharpen is too far gone.
Thanks for the tip....without doing "my homework"...does PSE5 or Adone PSE have a tutorial on "How To Sharpen...."?
