I know we can do curved text in PSE 3 but I have been looking and looking for a way to do a complete circle. FOUND IT

Mary,
Thanks for the link. I have just tried it out and it works really well.
I didn't realise that if you do text on a path in Photoshop then it is still editable when it is opened in elements ...
The rest of the site looks good too .. I have bookmarked it :)

Thanks Mary.
That is a really good site. I have bookmarked it too. Also went to their colorizer thing. Really handy for choosing colors that will work together.

Text on a path is slow !! .. it needs a powerful machine :(. Its a bit like liquify when you do lots of big changes.

Wendy or Jodi,
Where do you put this folder once it's been dowloaded? I read the instructions, but don't really understand how to use these.
Thanks,
Carol

OK ...
... now don't panic :)
All you do is leave it in a folder ... somewhere handy. Then when you want to do text in a circle (or one of the other shapes) you just open up the file (just like you do any other image) and simply drag the layer onto your own image.
Then you will be able to edit the text just as thought you had typed it in yourself ...

Wendy, gee I didn't know that text on a path in CS is slow...I wonder how Paint Shopt Pro handles it... Anyone using PSP ?

Jodi,
It so slow that there have been workarounds invented ... like type the text in straight and then drag it onto the path.

Well I watched hours and hours of Corel Draw videos and I can tell you that the way they do text to a path is so simple it's incredible. You can draw any scribbly path you want. The text is already typed and you just drag it over the path. It's still editable and you can reposition it whereever you want from side to side and up and down. You can even get rid of the path when you are done and just kept the text. A pretty impressive program all around. (yes, I'm itching to order it! )

This is a really old thread that Pauline has added a message to ... when it was started PSE4 wasn't around. It should work just fine in PSE4 :)
