This is my try at the sketch technique. Pretty cool effect I think. BTW, this is the Blount County Courthouse in Maryville, Tn. Original photo taken last fall.

I love it! I grew up in Chattanooga, TN, just a short drive from Maryville and have visited Maryville often on my way to the Smokies. Nice sketch.

Maybe it is just me, but it looks like the building is "leaning" to the left. May need to straighten it a bit. Other than that you've done a nice job!

That's a really beautiful image.

Where can I find a tutorial or some such. I'd like to try the same thing for the signature building image on my business website, www.clarklawfirm.com.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dave,

Try these instructions. I think they originated with Westiemom.

--------------------------------------

Ctrl J to copy.
Ctrl+Shift+U to remove color.
Ctrl J to copy the black and white layer. On this layer Ctrl I to invert.
Change the blend mode on inverted layer to Color Dodge.
Go to Filter, Other, Minimum. I used 4 pixels or so.

Now go back to original layer( the one with color).
Ctrl J to copy.
Drag that layer to the top and reduce the opacity.
Merge the top three layers so you're left with two layers.
Ctrl J to copy.
Go to Filter, Artistic, Poster Edges.
Play with the opacity until you get something you like.
