Thank you for posting the link that you used. I did this on a not-so-great photo I took of my grandaughters last week--it looks much better than the original. Have you used the gradients mentioned? I will download them.

Martha, your sketch is beautiful, a real treasure :)

I'm glad you enjoyed using that tut. I hate the way the *favourite* photo inevitably has horrible flaws and you struggle to know what to do to make it usable, looks like we both found a great method for our pics :)

Yes, I used the gradients, the one I picked was "Shanz241803". Because the photo had very dark outer bits and pasty white faces I had to be extra careful what gradient I chose.

I think that is one of the neatest things about learning to use Elements. I have a lot of photos that are not so good because of backgrounds or other things but with Elements you can do wonders!
It's great that there are so many tutorials, brushes, actions, etc. out there for us to use and learn.

My thoughts exactly Martha, for years I used mostly Paintshop Pro, Photostudio and a Microsoft program. I mastered none of them but there were certain things I knew I could do in each, talk about making stuff hard on yourself:eek:
I'll learn this program backwards, eventually!!!!

I'm off to bed, it's so late here in Ireland it's not even funny (3.20am).
