thanks Nancy for the great tutorial. Just finished this one up today.
It's my daughter and her boyfriend from Friday night's prom. She was thrilled with the results and it looks beautiful printed up.

Well done! I'm sure your daughter is rightly proud of the memento you have created for her :)

This page is wonderful! and I love how you used Nancy's tutorial. I'm 'saving' the globe for another time later on....:), although I've used her concepts;)
also Love how you did the background too.
Just perfect, and I know your daughter and her friends will love it too.
thank you for showing us.

And, not only was the tutorial executed very well, you did an exceptional job of holding the camera still while your daughter was being kissed by that...that...boy! ;)

Thanks everyone one.

Mike......I'm way past that stage. This boy is a lot less clingy than the boyfriend she had for 2.5 years! I actually asked them to kiss for the picture since I knew that's what I was going to put in the globe.

You're a stronger parent than I, Pauline, that's for sure! Whatever stage I'm in involves me still get a kick out of all those "Applications to Date my Daughter" floating around the internet...my personal favorite is the one about having a shotgun, a shovel, and 40 acres...:D

Ah, but I spend my days with 14-year-olds, remember? Boys who think they're men and girls who think they're women...I know what's coming... I beg the court to consider my circumstances and offer some leniency, your Honor! :D

Mike, I've made all my daughter's boyfriends fill out those "applications to date my daughter". It's amazing what you find out just by getting them to fill it out. One question not on there that should be is about possesiveness and both daughters have had one of those boyfriends. In fact I do believe it was my 16 year old's X that smashed her bedroom window on our long weekend at 4:30 a.m. :( For now she's single and too busy with work, baseball and school for boys and I LIKE IT THAT WAY!!!

Holy smokes, Pauline! Sounds like it's a good thing that relationship ended!

I agree.....I don't miss him one bit. Very whiney, very controlling, very selfish (an only child used to getting his own way) Not a good combination with a teenage girl. He is also 2 years older than her. Good riddance.

I couldn't find an official thread (didn't look too hard though :D)

Figured I would piggyback Paulines.

We had our prom yesterday.

Oh boy, I guess I got off easy. I didn't give Sam a curfew for her grad night and she was home at 11:40!!! There was a party afterwards with plenty of tents set up in the afternoon in preparation but they decided not to go. Everyone had left grad early to go drink and party. Sam and her b/f don't drink so they decided not to bother. I hope that carries through to college. :D

You both did outstanding jobs with those prom photos!!!!!:)

Do you think I could get my cats to do that--since kids aren't an option?:D

Pauline
June 1st, 2007, 09:59 PM
Thanks Sherry. Maybe you could get your cat to pose with his paw on a ball. :D Or......I could send you a kid? Do you want the expensive one who is going to college in the fall or the second one who is just learning to drive or my third who hits highschool in the fall. I call that the year from hell. :D

Thanks.. I've been tweaking and finessing it on and off tonight.:)

Kelly hasn't seen it yet, being as she is at the beach.. I think she is home Saturday night/afternoon.. depending on the weather.

Gary, well done on your daughter's picture, bet she loves it :)
Kim, I'm in the same boat as you, no guinea pigs to try this out on at the moment. I don't mind too much though, that means no TEENAGERS :D
Been there, done that, dreading the next session!

JoJo, I really can't say no teenagers as my son will be 13 the 5th of next month. They grow so fast. He is already almost taller than my hubby and me. By the time I get back home he probably will be.:D

Kim, I know what you mean :)
My mother was disgusted to realise my youngest has gotten taller than her (he turned 11 last week). They don't stay small for very long and it is a joy to watch them turning into young adults :)

What a great job on the photos. But where do I find Nancy's tutorial. Love the idea of a cat with a paw on a globe - want to try that. Just how to get a cat to pose?

Thanks Kay. We just moved north for the summer and I asked the office to hold my subscription and magazines until we get back to Florida. So guess I shall have to wait a few months to do this. I also missed out on the one to put several of the same photos together. Darn it. Jean

Pauline, that is super fantastic !!! Talk about being pro-active ! The kids totally pulled off the look of holding something round ! ..Were they holding a ball when the shot was taken ? Either way, BEST I've seen in a long long time ! Bravo !

Pauline
June 4th, 2007, 10:41 AM
Thanks so much Jodi. I put a grimy soccer ball in their hands that was laying in the back yard and then told them to freeze and took it away. Sam had already seen the tutorial that Nancy did so she knew what was going on. Nick didn't have a clue, but he's a good boy and just does what I tell him. :D He's seen enough of my work not to question.

Inspeqtor
June 4th, 2007, 10:46 AM
Good thinking Pauline! I never would have thought to use a soccer ball, then take it out of their hands!

Pauline
June 4th, 2007, 10:50 AM
Charles much easier than trying to remove it afterwards!! Plus I knew I wanted some parts of the globe to be transparent so had I not done that I would have had to clone in the dress. Way to much work! Now if it were young kids it might have been more difficult getting them to hold a pose.

GaryK
June 4th, 2007, 07:21 PM
Ok.. Kelly wasn't as keen on it as I was.

"oh dad, that's nice"

On a brighter note. Prom was great and the party even better.

They had a "party bus" for the trip up. Seats around the perimiter leaving a dance floor in the middle with a DJ for music.

The driver got lost on the way up, so the 2 hr ride turned into 4. They must have gone the long way around past Pauline's place.:D So they rolled in at 6 am and the party started.

No major incidents and everybody had a good time.

Pauline
June 4th, 2007, 09:05 PM
Gary she was probably too tired for a good reaction! No doubt she didn't get much sleep. They had a perfect weekend as far as the weather went. These days I'm considered an inconvenience by my 18 year old. Always snapping at me....unless of course she wants something and then turns on the charm.

whillensbeck,

Welcome to this great forum! I agree with Sherry, you will probably have to call and ask for a back issue if you want this one. I would ask first to be sure they are going to start you with the next issue. The last issue was Volume 4 Number 3. The telephone number is: 1-866-808-2793
