Thank you Suzi and Kim,
I am very glad that you liked him. His wife is always somewhere near and I will try later to get a pic of them together. Harvey

Beautiful picture. Ah! the Cardinal. How I wish we had it out here in the Pacific Northwest. Oh well. Thanks for the picture.

A wonderful picture - I see a flash of red going across the yard but haven't yet seen them land anywhere in my yard. Cardinals are beautiful birds.

We tend to take them for granted most of the time here in Texas. But a beautiful photo like Harvey's definitely reminds you of their incredible color.

Great shot, Harvey!

Well I am very pleased y'all liked it. Chuck is right, we have so many many birds here in South Texas we tend to take them for granted. If one watches you can see at least 12-15 types in an hour or two. Gail, Kim, Will, Suzi and Chuck, I thank you each and all. Oh, almost forgot, here's the picture of the pair that showed up a while ago:

Thank you Martha. I am glad you liked the pics. I have perhaps 5-7 pair here each day. Mostly this years young.
I have a crazy hummingbird hangs out here as well as quite a few other varieties of birds.

Nice pictures with excellent color, Harvey,
I too have a pair living somewhere in or next to my yard and enjoy watching.

I bait my chipmunk trap with sunflower seeds. The male cardinal gets caught an average of every other day. I was muttering something about, "dumb bird", on my way out to release him yesterday.

My wife observed, "What's dumb? You always let him out and he got the seeds he was after."

We had a Cardinal here that was constantly attacking his rival: his reflection in the windows of the house. He would slam against one window, then go around to the other side of the house and slam into another. I believe this went on for two or three years! I haven't seen him for a few weeks, so maybe his head injuries finally did him in....

Cardinals are also known to sit on car rear view mirrors and peck at their reflections. Oh, well.....

Hey John, Rusty, Smiles, Ann, Kev and Julie and to all who posted earlier AGAIN, I thank you so much.....Mostly, glad you found enjoyable.......And Chuck I have a bunting here for the last several years that woke me every morning by pecking on the bedroom window like a maniac....up until this year, I noticed he found a mate (at last) and so I guess he's got better things to occupy his time. :) Harvey
