View Full Version : Written Lessons??

Aside from my connection speed issues (which may cause me to leave these classes), I really want to obtain WRITTEN lessons. I'm currently in the Creative class, and I've found that the lectures are next to impossible to follow without being able to record or write down precisely what Corey is saying.
I surely cannot remember all of it. I've gone back and watched some of them two and three times, and still find them hard to follow.
We are dealing with a software program that requires some precision, and many of the instruction sets zip right by each step.
So, is there a book I can obtain, maybe a PDF of each lesson setting forth each step? The pdf outline is essentially useless at only a few sentences.

Hi Dave ...
The PDF is only intended s a memory jogger not a full blown written lesson ... some of us printed them out and added additional notes to it but really they are just a suplement to the Videos ...
There isn't any more written details available of the classes ...
Wendy :)
PS ... I have just noticed that you have added your email address to your signature, it may be better if you don't have it showing as spammers do tend to harvest them ...

Thanks, Wendy.
I'm not worried about spammers. They'd have to get a password and sign up for the courses.
I'm about to just drop the whole idea. I tried following one of the lessons on my own image, and just cannnot. The lecturer zips right through the steps without pause, way too fast, and with no explanation of what he's trying to do. And, I can't write fast enough to get it all.
Do you keep the lesson open and running when trying to work on your own image? That's the reason for having a written lesson -- print it out and then try an exercise.
I've been using PSE since it was PS Light and came with a scanner I bought in 98 or 99. Now I'm on a Mac. Have taken other classes and thought this one was by Adobe itself. There are still many things I do not understand, and hence cannot accomplish when I try to use PSE. It appeared that Creative was a beginning class, but obviously it is not. The start with Blending Mode has been a disaster; frankly, I don't see the point of many of the exercises. All of the contrasts, brightness, and color changes can be done easily with other tools, so why bother.
Maybe I'll just give up on PSE and switch to Apeture.
I was hoping to improve my photography, but it looks like that won't happen with these classes.
See, http://home.earthlink.net/~dc1999/ and http://web.mac.com/dave28c/ for examples of my work. You might like the pics of some English cathedrals.

Dave,
Anyone can come on this forum....you don't have to be a subscriber, and we not infrequently get spammers here...
I have sent you a PM which may interest you....

Dave... we asked for a Creative Class and Corey was kind enough to provide us with one. There are some of us (including me) that just can't understand the process of leaving an image alone. ;)
Why don't you call Customer Service and tell them the class is too advanced for you and ask if you could change to the Layers Course. That is what I started with when I found this site. You will not get written lesson but it is the best one to start with. I don't know if they will do it but is worth a phone call.:)

Hi Dave ...
I see that you are using a Mac ... me too :)
You can pause the classes whilst you make notes ... just look below the video and you will see the controls ... :)

When I took the creative class I continuously paused the video and backed it up and replayed the particular part. I got a lot out of the course. I hope you don't give up on PSE. It is truly a great program.
