Elements 3 lets you choose which dates you want on a calendar and lets you add your own events and dates. When I do this, then try to make a calendar, the dates and events do not appear on the calendar. What am I doing wrong?

I have read on another forum that this is possible to add dates etc when using the calendar view in the organizer but is not possible in a calendar creation. So it sounds as thought you are not doing anything wrong its just that PSE3 will not do it :(

Several people have already suggested to Adobe that this should be changed for the future.

I have added special dates in the Calendar Preferences file and they along with the default ones do not show up in the Calendar Creations. Maybe Adobe is saving that for a later version.

When using the Calendar Creator, I have been able to use the 'Add Text' button and put an event or note in a date and have it print on the calendar.
Pull the text box from it's default position top-center and re-size to fit in a day block in the calendar grid and use formating to make your text fit or your style. You can add as many as you require.
I have tried several work-arounds to add clip art to the grid, (heart for Valentine's Day, Birthday cake etc) without any success.

PSE3 is just like any other program, there are always going to be things you would like for it to do or do differently!

What you are referring to here is the Date View calendar in Organizer - not the creation of a wall calendar.

Date View provides a means of seeing photo(s) within your catalog taken on a particular day and add notes etc.

To create a calendar click the "Create" icon top centre of the top toolbar. This brings up a menu with Slide Show, VCD, Photo Album Pages, Card, Postcard, Wall Calendar & Web Photo Gallery.

If you select Wall Calendar you can then create a calendar with 12 photos of your choice using a number of standard templates. You can add a note to the photo that appears for each month.

That's Calendar creation in PE3. Hope this helps.

When you create a wall calendar, you can put a caption or note on the photo for the template (each month or year) and also add notes to the day grid. Just click 'Add Text" for each day you want to add note, appintment etc.

Sorry, I was responding to the first post.

reiland is refering to the preferences that you can set for the calendar in Date View.
