Error Checking For Updates

I just installed Elements 5 and tried to run an update by clicking on "Check For Updates..." in the Adobe Help Center preferences. I get the error message "Error Checking For Updates - There was an error trying to launch the Adobe Update Manager, it is possible that it has been uninstalled". Is this a bug? I'm running an English version of Elements 5 on a German Windows XP system.

Just turn off the option for updates in the preferences -- Adobe doesn't seem to do updates for elements. Welcome to the forum.

Just as Will says...but I am running PSE5 English on a German version of XP MCE and don't seem to have any problems.
