RAW or .CR2 error

Hi, I'm trying to use RAW for the first time in my life :eek:.

I took a few shots with Xti in RAW and when I try to GET them in the Organizer or with the Editor its giving me an error message.

The message in the Organizer is : "The file is damage or is a format that cannot be included in the Organizer..."

The Editor: "Cannot open...IMG_0063.CR2 because it is the wrong type of file"

I'm using PSE4 and I already dowloaded and install the new version of RAW conversion 3.7 from Adobe.

The photos opens fine and looks nice when I use the software that came with the camera, DPP.

There is a version 4.0 I believe with new capabilities -- have you tried it yet?

I had the same problem when I got my canon xti and the version 4 fixed the problem.

Hi Will, yes there is a Camera Raw 4.0 update for Photoshop Elements, but the Adobe Site specify that this version is for PS5.

It does work OK with PSE4 too.

I did not mentioned that my OS is Windows, it's ok to install the RAW 4.0 even Adobe says that 4.0 is for MAC and 3.7 is for Windows?

Use the Windows version for PSE5 - it also works in PSE4 (it's just that Adobe don't tell you that)

Well, I decide to give it a try and I installed the RAW 4.0 converter from Adobe to be used with my PSE4 and so far its working. The Adobe install documentation clearly establish that the RAW 4.0 is for PSE5 and the 3.7 is for PSE4, probably I misread something, but its working, I made a backup of the previous one just in case. ;)

That's good - I suspect that Adobe just don't like to admit that it works in both PSE4 and PSE5 but it won't work in CS2 :eek:
