Non Elements question

Totally off topic, but this board is so friendly & helpful I thought I'd start here:)

Whenever my son attaches his ipod to my computer, all my other usb connections freeze up & refuse to communicate with the computer. It's happened twice so far - each time, even though things like my modem, Wacom tablet, printer & card reader are plugged in, I get an error message telling me that they're not. It takes anything from 3 hours to 3 days and countless rebootings before the problem rights itself. At the moment ds is forbidden near the computer with his ipod....but has anyone any idea why this is happening? Is it a computer problem, an ipod problem or both? I should mention that it also happened when his friend tried plugging in his ipod....

Well after my ds had three times:eek: managed to crash my computer with his ipod resulting in me being unable to use anything that needed a usb port, I finally this evening tried the fix given in the first link and I'm happy to say that it worked perfectly!:) I hope it won't happen again when he next tries his ipod though, but at least I didn't have to call in the computer technician....

good luck with your problem. I've had some 'quirky' computer/ipod problems since getting our ipods too.
