So wonderful, Wendy! I wish I had had such beautiful pix from my wedding 36 years ago! They were really "lame." Yours are wonderful. But . . . I guess I've put too much into this marriage to do it again just to get nicer photos

Really nice, Wendy.

I have no wedding pics at all...they all burnt up in a house fire

Lovely job Wendy. That wedding cake is incredible. I've never seen one like it. A nice change from the traditional white cake.

Jodi, don't feel bad.......I have no wedding pictures either. Oh wait.......I do have some..... from my first wedding..........not my second!
We didn't take any. I was 8 month pregnant. (got to wear my wedding outfit a few times more too for those other pregnancies!) We were married by the justice of the peace and 3 of 4 of us were wearing matching hockey coats. The pictures are all in my mind and they still make me smile.

PS.........It was a PLANNED pregnancy.......hubby is just a little slow when it comes to paperwork!

Pauline,

The Wedding Cake was wonderful ... Chocolate Orange Sponge but the photos I took of it were awful.

I only had a few minutes to take the photos, the sun was streaming into the window, it was on a table near the window, the window was a narrow bay which limited the background .... so the background had to be either part of the window and part of a dark red curtain or part of the curtain and part of a dark wood panel ...

Oh and the cake base was highly reflective (yes with the sun full on it).

I look three photos ... and here is the one that I used the most of:

The final image is a many layered patchwork :) :)

Wendy you sure had your work cut out for you with that picture!! With the dark wooden door behind the cake, it just disappears! BUT think of how lovely you made it. Before photoshop they would have been stuck with the other picture which really doesn't do the beauty of the cake justice. I'm sure all your hard work will really be appreciated.

Hi ...

... and thank you all for the kind comments :).

I have finished off the CD for them and it ended up with 101 photos on it. Originally I wan't going to take any photos at the wedding but in the end I was persuaded to take the camera along ... and I can say that taking photos whilst wearing a hat is not an easy job :) :)

Sad thing is .... seeing that I was mainly on the other end of the camera I only appear on two photos ... and neither of them are any good so no way am I posting one of me!! I hate having my photo taken, it was bad enough having one done for the software review I did on this site.

I do, however, now have a great deal of admiration for wedding photographers ... no way would I like do that every week. It was just too much hard work !!

Wendy I think it would be different if you were doing it for a living and not one of the guests at the wedding. I find when I take pictures at events etc., I feel like I miss so much because I have my eye stuck to the camera. Also because it's family you probably put a lot more pressure on yourself regarding the creations.

I wonder how many wedding photographers even do this kind of work. Probably a lot is repeatitious templates. They wouldn't start from scratch with each photo. I'm sure there would be a hefty extra charge too. I know with school photos now, they are starting to offer calendars and one montage and they are pretty basic.

Wendy,
You did a Fabulous job with the wedding photos---I especially like "the calendar" --very simple but fun! :D

Wendy

Sherry,

I originally created that for a Challenge Image ... but once it was finished I decided to keep it in layers. So it was fairly easy to adapt it ... problem was that when I originally did it I used July so I had to change all the numbers around.

Because each number had to be on its own layer ... the final image ended up as around 60 layers

Wendy,
HOLY COW!!!
I have a couple of Calendar programs/software--that you can just lay the photo under the "numbers". That is a lot of work--but it shows!!! :D

I was totally impressed with the calendar -- such a great idea to mark the special day and have picture(s) behind it. Well Done indeed!

60 Layers? I may get up to 6 or 8 so far, I've got a lot of layers to go yet

Wendy

Will,

The number of layers just creep up on you and before you know where you are .... you need a new computer :)

Now thats another story ... maybe this afternoon I will start a thread about that

Wendy,

These are great... I like the shots of the girls (bridesmaids?) - they add a different perpsective to the day, rather than a series of shots with people posing.

Hi Dixie ...

Thank you ... most of them are done using a technique from a Video tip in the Subscribers area. Its a nice effect :)

Hi Brenda ...

Most of the Wedding Effects are done using the tutorials from the subscriber area. The ones like the Brides parents use the Wedding Template Video Tutorial ... that is a brilliant way of doing Wedding Images.

The Poleroid image used a combination of tuts ... part of the one I mentioned above and a Poleriod frame I made a while ago.

The Calendar I made for another image but used it on this one too.

It is worth making a few templates in advance .. that way you can just drop any photograph into place .. and change the positioning.

Hope this helps :)
