Hello! I have a question regarding scanning glass negatives in PSE 4 and am hoping someone here can help me. I already read the thread from February about glass negatives and learned a lot but didn't see anyone with this particular problem or issue.
When I scan the glass negatives that I have, which are circa 1900 I believe and most are about 5x7 size, I can get a decent image using my Epson 1670 set on Transparency and B&W negative. Except for one thing: I am getting striping in the images!
I can post an example if anyone is interested in seeing what I am talking about. It is more pronounced in some images than in others. These negatives provided fine prints when printed photographically about 10 years ago and have been stored under archival conditions since then. There is nothing visible in the negatives themselves that should cause the striping so I assume it is from the scanning.
Any explanations or ideas on how to avoid it or deal with it? I would appreciate it greatly...I have a whole box of these to do!
