Hi all, Yesterday morning I was so surprized to see this little guy in my yard! He was so scared of me, hunkered down, and froze. I have *never* seen a rabbit around in 10 yrs in this house, but here he was. Looks like a baby perhaps.. he was tiny enough to almost fit in the palm of my hand. The reflection of the blue sky is in his eye which also surprized me :)
Just wondering if y'all have wild rabbits around?

Wonderful picture, Simone,
We have lots of baby bunnies around my yard (SE Wisconsin) this time of year but they are really hard to spot. Momma does a pretty good job teaching them how to be still and hide :)
Lucky for you, this little guy tried to hide in bright green leaves ;)

Great shot! We disturbed all the nesting sites last year when we cleaned up and put in a bit of decent yard. Have yet to discover where the kits are this year.

Yes, lots of bunnies in and around our yard. A couple years ago a mama bunny had her babies underneath our deck, which is away from our house and in the corner of the yard. It was fun watching all the little ones when they started coming out. We've attempted to rescue several of them over the years, when a cat or a bird has injured them. We're not real successful at doctoring, though :(\
Simone, your photo is delightful!

Simone, what an adorable little bunny. Great shot, lucky you. Not to many bunnies come in our yard anymore. One did last week and our Springer Spaniel went nuts at the back door (sliders) and it couldn't get through the fence fast enough. Unfortunately I didn't get a shot. I think Babe knew why I was getting the camera out and looked out the door and that was that.:D The squirrels on the other hand like to sit on the fence and taunt her. Its like they know she can't get out the door. Well, they knew. The other day was beautiful and the screen wasn't enough to stop her.:D :D

Thanks so much, glad you liked the photo of this little cutie! :) Yes, it was totally a lucky shot - and, like you said Rusty - what luck he was in pretty greenery.
And, your stories and funny anecdotes were great. LOL! Linda, I can't believe your rescue efforts, wow. I didn't know that bunnies are fairly common in yards, not really being a yard/garden person myself. I'm in a townhome complex (in Mo.) and have a smallish front yard, which is landscaped by the management co., so I haven't gotten into it much -- but now that I'm retired :D I want to learn more about yards/gardening/etc.... and I will have to keep my eye out for bunnies! :)

Simone,
Great shot of the adorable baby bunny!:) It looks like he hopped into the leaves just to pose for you!
We've live in our house about 10 years, too, and this is the first time I've seen rabbits in the yard. Could have something to do with the fact that we had a cat or two cats that lived in the backyard up until a couple of years ago...;)
I saw the rabbit eating my clematis a couple of weeks ago and then last week found the baby hiding among the gladiolas last week. (I had to lighten that one so you could see it!)

Kim R, amazing that you too have bunny-sightings after 10 years! Your photos are great. The little guy hiding and peeking through is adorable.
