"Mom to 4" update!

Colleen ("mom to 4") had an accident one week ago tomorrow. She fell down her basement stairs and is still not clear on how it happened. She suffered a broken elbow, a severe concussion, lots of bruising, but is -- thank God -- probably going to be fine. She is still in the hospital because they are keeping an eye on her due to the severe nature of the concussion.

I spoke with her today and she wanted me to tell everyone on the forum "hello." Some have been quietly communicating about this via private messages to protect Colleen's privacy. However, she wanted the forum to know that she is doing well and the minute she is able to log on to her computer, this will be her first stop.

A special thanks to Michelle ("msbrad") who heard about this and began "pm-ing" folks -- and started kind of a prayer chain of sorts. Thanks to AngelicKim (who sent Colleen flowers). Colleen is so touched by the friendship of this forum. I think our families sometimes think we are crazy to have these "virtual friends" -- but, there is nothing virtual about it -- the friendship is very real.

Keep her in your prayers. But mostly she wants you not to worry about her. She wanted me to tell everyone to be careful on stairs.

She is quick to make jokes and laugh on the telephone; so I can say with confidence that she is just fine! I have not told her -- yet -- that she is hystairical. I will save that one.

Look for a post from her in about a week, I would say. It will be here, in the Pixel Hangout. She tells me it will be entitled, "I'm back"!

Marie, so glad to hear Colleen is making jokes and had you let everyone know how she is doing. It was a hard secret to keep knowing so many caring people here were probably wondering where she has been. I know Michelle has let her know for me she is in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. I know everyone here will be doing the same.

Oh, my! I had missed seeing posts and gallery images from her. Thank you for letting us know, and I'm so thankful that she's on the mend and the near future looks bright for her. That must have been a very scary thing to have happen. Hope she wasn't home alone.

Sending good thoughts Colleen's way. It must have been a very bad fall to be in the hospital for a week. By now she's probably getting pretty sick of that hospital food!! Not to mention the fact that there is so much noise in teh hospital that you can't get much sleep!

Michelle notified me by PM about Colleen's accident and kept me up to date by email. I've always regarded Colleen as a favourite among my forum friends.
I'm very pleased that she is getting better, I'm sure it helps that everyone is praying for her.

For anyone who missed her, Colleen was on for a short time last night trying to catch up some. She is feeling much better and her son Joe was accompanying her to an a football game tonight that she had promised to take pictures at. She promised to be careful and take it easy.
