Which course should I take first

I would start with the Layers course. That, combined with becoming a subscriber here and having access for getting on for 200 (?) video & written tutorials, plus a load of very helpful experts on this forum would be your best bet!

I might suggest that you check out Eclectic Academy.

Any class taught by Sara Froehlich is going to be good. If you have PSE5 you might be interested in Photoshop Elements 5: First Steps for Windows, Part 1 but of course there are classes for the other versions as well. A six week class costs $20 which is well spent. Of course the other suggestions offered by others are good choices also.
