Yesterday I went to Syon Park. It was pretty cool outside, and when I went into the tropical butterfly house, my spectacles misted up. I noticed that a number of my early pictures were quite blurred, and wonder if the same thing happens with the lens (point and shoot Lumix), and if so, if there is anything I can do to prevent it.

Ann, the temperature and humidity indoors were apparently different enough from outside that your lens (and glasses) were below the dew point when you came indoors. About all you can do is wait for the camera to reach equilibrium temperature, then carefully wipe away (with soft lens tissue) any remaining dew.
From a preventative standpoint, you might want to keep the camera warm (e.g.,inside your coat) before entering the warm and moist room, but then you might miss some nice outdoor shots so that may not be practical...!

Ann: Just wait until you go visit the Eden Project in Cornwall - I had a terrible time with misting up although they do have some demisters available that help a bit. Like Chuck says (and that was my experience there too) was about all you can do is wait which is not hard to do there - it's a great place for photography.
