A couple of weeks ago when the cherry blossoms were in bloom, I when to the tidal basin at sunrise and took photos. I put together a montage of 5 of the photographs. So far I have sold 9 16x20-inch photos and one 20x30. I have about 5 other possible orders pending. It's a great feeling when someone thinks enough of your work to actually pay for it.

Way to go Mark! Contratulations! I remember too how good it felt to sell my first photos. Ironically - they were of cherry blossoms too. I have since sold lots of big cat stuff and other custom work but it was a great feeling to get that first sale.

Mark,
Nice use of the branches to frame the Monuments. Did the cold weather shorten the Cherry Blossom viewing season this year? Here in central Indiana just as the Weeping Cherry Trees were getting to full Blossom the weather changed to below freezing and ruined the Beauty.
Congratulations on the sales, I'm sure you are thrilled.

Mark, isn't it a great feeling to sell your work? Oh but wait, according to someone, I won't mention names, montages aren't art so does it count?:D :D
Congrats Mark

Congrats Mark! That's great. Can I ask how you advertised? How did you let people know they were for sale?
Thanks!

Thanks for all the comments.
Doug the blossoms were gone before the cold snap hit, but they don't last long anyway.
Kim, we just won't tell u know who. :D
Danstar, I had printed a 8x10 and put it on the window of my cube, one of my co-workers saw it and asked if they could have a copy in a larger size. She liked it so much she order 4 copies, one for herself and the others for gifts. When I brought them in to her she was so happy she was showing everyone else in the office and that resulted in more sales.
Sandra, the ones I sold were 16x20-inch prints on metalic paper. They were not mounted or framed, but if someone were to want it that way I would accomodate them for an additional fee. I don't have a web site set up to sell prints someone would just have to contact me via e-mail in order to purchase one. I have also had some notecards & postcards made of some of the prints and will get a table at one of the christmas bazars and see how that goes.
