A shot from a local golf course today. Went to see what kind of shots I could get out there and I just wasn't feeling it. Started playing with different movements of the lense (up and down, side to side) with long shutter speeds and came up with this.

Don't worry about the tripod pictures. I'll come back with questions if I ever get to the point where I'm going to make a purchase. I haven't even got the dSLR yet! :p

So, Bob...

You went out and got a fantastic tripod, and NOW you're intentionally trying to take unsteady shots??? :p

I've also goofed around with purposely moving the camera, a couple of times, and it is fun and can result in some interesting images, for sure.

:D Pretty funny huh. The sky was really overcast and nothing was really popping out saying "this is a great shot".

Bob

I was going to comment on the fact that your tripod wasn't working well but Byron beat me too it.

I did some of those with my Christmas tree lights.. had some cool effects.

:) LOL. Gary, the tripod is working great. Can't believe how much a difference a good tripod and head makes. I am going out to get some pics this afternoon at the park. I want to try to shoot my 50mm f/1.8 lens wide open focusing on a tree, with many other trees in the background for a different type of effect.

Bob, I get pictures like that all the time -- without even trying :D

I get them when I don't want to, and find it to get them when I want them.
