Just a question - because you are all so willing to share. I am on my third camera since I started this digital two years ago. I have my 10x zoom Fuji which I use and my pocket Canon which I use. My first camera a Fuji F700 I do not use anymore. I put it on Craigslist a couple of hours ago and was offered $70.00. I know I paid about $550. with tax at the time for camera and card. At the rate camera prices are dropping - should I jump at this? What do you all do with your old cameras as you upgrade?
Thanks anyone.

Shari, I did a Froogle search on the Fuji F700, and selling prices range from low of about $125 to a high of $400 (!) There's a robust market for earlier digitals because many of them had better image quality than the high megapixel versions of today. I've purchased a couple used Canon P&S cameras on eBay and refurbished from B&H at prices that are not far from their original cost.
So tell the person offering $70 thanks, but no thanks!
p.s. I haven't sold any of my cameras. Guess it's hard to part with an old friend....

Thanks Chuck - both for the site and the info. I was also including a card with the camera. I deleted it and will re-think what I might do. If people upgrade like I do there must be an awful lot of older P & S around.

True about the older cameras, and like Chuck said, don't lt it go for 70.00.

What do you all do with your old cameras as you upgrade? I have a cupboard that would think its life was entirely without purpose if I got rid of my old cameras. I can't do that to my cupboard. It has feelings, too....:)
I can't bring myself to part with them. I know that this is silly financially, but they've been to so many places with me.... I keep promising myself I'll put a roll of film in them, and take them out one day, but it rarely happens. Ah well, perhaps next week.

Shari, I too have trouble parting with my old cameras. I know I still have a couple of film cameras. As for my P&S's. My first one was ruined by hubby on a fishing trip in Canada so he replaced it with a Kodak Eas Share. Then he bought me Canon Digital Rebel for my birthday a few years ago and I gave him the Kodak. He won't be so lucky if I ever upgrade to the xTi as he says I have to sell the 300D first. I would like to keep it as a backup camera since I do portraits as freelance. Still trying to convince him on that one.
Chuck, thanks for the site. off to check it out.
