My brother in law raises Alpacas. They are raised for their wool.
This baby was only a week old. I think another was born since I took this so will have to check it out.

Very cute picture Kim, they look like big stuffed animals. Are they friendly animals?

Kim,
cute animals.
Bob,
they're pretty friendly and their wool is valuable. I don't if they spit at you like llamas.

Oh Rob that is weird:eek:
Please show me what you come up with in your 'photo session'.
They are friendly. Saw them spit at each other (she didn't like the male advances:p ) but don't think they've spit at any people (yet).

Alpaca sweaters on the hoof....:D
Look like they may be members of the llama family?

When talking to a lady at the "Alpaca" store (really!!!) in St. Augustine last week she told me they are originally from an area of sub-zero weather (as usual I forgot the little detail of exactly where:o ). I can't imagine them being very happy (or profitable) here in sunny (hot) Florida. I think their wool will adapt to the heat somewhat and not be as thick.

How cute! They do look like stuffed animals.
Do they have different color fur, or has baby not changed yet?
Does your brother in law live in Florida? I hope you get some more pictures
as the baby grows.

Great shot, Kim! How did you get them to pose like that? Alpacas have the most beautiful eyes...but if they spit it might be tricky to get a close-up!

My brother in law lives close to us so must get over and take some follow up pictures. The first time I saw them I cracked up because one of them looked like it had this page-boy haircut--it was just funny!! (The alpaca, not the bro.in law:) )
