Hi all.

I'm just about to get started on a layout that I want to send my mother for mother's day. I plan to do an A4 size layout - but other than that, I'm not sure what to do.

Should I include photos of my mother only? Mainly my mother? should I put photos of me and my brother? Sister-in-law? Neice and nephew??

Also, colour scheme suggestions would be valuable too - I guess you can tell I'm fairly newish to this:)

If anyone has suggestions or examples, I'd love to hear/see them!

Thanks!

Tracy

Being a mother is what Mother's Day is all about - so you should include her children.

How about framing it?

And, you could do a couple more pages, so she would have the option to change out the frame when the mood strikes.

I think I would go with soft, feminine colors - but how "frou frou" you'd get would depend upon what type of person your mom is.

Personally, I'd stick with tones of beige/tan/brown. But that's my "in the box" way of thinking.

Hi Tracy, like Janice said, include pics of you and your brothers. Like pics of you with you Mom. Use a color scheme that will go with her furnishing and frame it. I also like Janice's suggestion of doing extra pages she can interchange.

Maybe a collection of pictures of mom with her children and grandchildren.

There are lots of mother quotes on the web - a couple of my favorites:

"A mother holds her children’s hands for a while, but their hearts forever ."
-- Author:Unknown

"A mother's children are portraits of herself."
-- Author: Unknown

"When a child is born, so is a mother..."
--Author: Unknown

And one of my favorite "mother" scrapping kits is by EvaK and is called "Momma's Rose Garden" (http://digitalfreebies.com/zen/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=736)

Thanks very much for the tips - just what I needed to know.

Jane - that Mama's Rose Garden kit is lovely.

Things have been pretty hectic for about the last 7 weeks:) Hopefully I'll have more time now to spend here and working on my photos!
