Stopping every 7 seconds

This is what my video does for Layers, Day One. Day Two is nearly as bad. Has anyone else had this difficulty? What can I do? I'm finding the information I'm getting in 7-second increments is very interesting and helpful but I question my ability to get through the entire course. My Quick Time is Level 11.

The site seems to be stopping and starting too (well for me it is :) ) ... so I would suggest that you leave it for short while and then try again :)

I had this (exact) problem and it turns out it came down to my lack of bandwidth. In this country most places (other than central city) will stuggle to get more than 2.5 Mb/s (actual download speed) as we use ADSL! Elements support people said with these vid's you will need closer to 5 Mb/s. :(

I"m also having a stopping problem with my video. The first time it plays through just fine but often with subsequent viewings it will just freeze. Since it doesn't happen all the time, I just reboot--a big pain. I have only done 3 lessons so far. I'm glad I am not alone with this problem.

Well where I am 2.5MB would be wonderful as I struggle to make 1.5MB ... however I just tried the Layers class and it runs fine for me :)

I'm not sure where the 5MB speed came from, but after speaking with our web guys, I have the following information.
You need to have a *true* highspeed connection (cable modem or better)
average speed of 2-3MB is what I am told. Slower will sometimes work but no promises.

Thanks so much for the info :) ... my connection only averages around 1.5MB but it works fine 90% of the time ...
