I had heard very good reviews of the first book you mentioned, but I didn't know where to get it. (I couldn't find it online at Amazon or B & N. ) Thanks for mentioning it; I'll stop by my local Michael's store later! :)

I did find the book on line at Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Designs-Scrapbooking-Renee-Pearson/dp/1933516054/ref=pd_sim_b_1/104-3994374-9883906
There is a book 2 coming out soon - but it looks like it's not an update of book 1, but rather a step up in difficulty

Here's book 1
http://www.simplescrapbooksmag.com/shop/item.ihtml?idx=318
The price at Michaels was $20 - same on the website and Amazon

Oops, apparently I had just checked at Barnes & Noble, then. I think it's cause I wanted to use my discount card. :) Since the price is the same, I'm going to check Michael's first. Thanks!

In this book Renee teaches how to do a template or just using use hers?
My difficulty is to find a book about digital scrapbook that teaches me how to do my own things, not use templates they already offer, that is easy.
Does she teach that?

I have Renee's book. It's pretty decent. She has 4 kits on the CD with the book, and some templates. But, she also teaches you how to build your own. It is very step-by-step, and lots of little hints. I was making an album from one of her kits - it's here:

Anyhow, I think her book is a good way to get started. If you already know how to do stuff, then I would wait for her book 2. Maybe I can get it for my birthday this fall. :)

I pre-ordered Book 2 and was just notified today that it is now shipping. It appealed to me because it's supposed to offer details on how to create your own embellishments. I've wanted to learn that ever since I started digital scrapbooking. (In addition to Wendy's great tutorials, of course)!
:)
