Several of the forum members are subscribers from UK and they get the magazine (albeit a little late sometimes). I think it would be a wonderful gift and you would have access to videos and written tutorials to fill a lot of hours helping you learn PSE and there is always help on the forum. We're a friendly bunch so you can ask any questions you need.

Hi! I would run - not walk - to your family and take them up on their offer :D I'm not a UK member, of course, so can't speak to the delays in getting the newsletter, but even without the newsletter, access to the huge library of tutorials in the subscriber area is an amazing bang for the buck.

Jim,
as a fellow Brit I say grab the offer with both hands!
We get the magazine, a little later but we get it. If you are on broadband you will have no trouble downloading the videos etc.
You will have access to the subscriber's area which is a gold mine of information.
The members here are very friendly and will help you with any queries. Wendy who is our guru is also a Brit.

Jim,
Ditto, ditto, ditto!!!! The subscription was one of the smartest things I ever did. This forum has lots of people of our "youthful" generation (I'm 68) who continuosly prove that chronological disposition is no deterrent to learning.

Hi Jim ...
Oh it really is worth it ... its not just the magazine but its the Subscriber Area too. In there you have (at the moment) around 180 Video tutorials and over 90 Written ones. Then you have extras (to go with the newsletter), some downloads and you get a Gallery to show off your images .. I just think that its great value ..
We do get the magazine OK here ... in fact this last time we had it before some of the folks in the US.
... My birthday is in May too :)
