Hi,all
When I open an image in the Adobe Raw Converter, work on it,and send it to the Editor....it still says .CR2 in the title bar.Do I leave it like that while I do further changes in Editor(as a .CR2),or change to a .psd before working?

Same scenario with a jpg opened in the Editor....it says .JPG in the title bar and I want to change it to a .PSD or Tiff. How do I do that?Do I "save as" .psd or tiff, then reopen that in the Editor?Or just work on the .JPG as imported to the editor, and when done,"save as" a .psd or tiff?

Thanks!

PS:one more!Is Exif only available in the Organizer?

Always save as a different name or extension. Do not overwrite the original. It will be lost for ever.
jpegs always compress, repeated opening altering and closing the same file causes repeated compression artifacts
The RAW file saves the original data and the alterations as a sub file within it. the RAW file is not altered, just a text file witihn it stating how to alter the RAW data for display, where it is the manipulated in Editor and saved under a different name.

I'm needing to do.If I open a jpg that has not been post processed,in the PSE3 Editor,do some post processing work, then "save as" to a "psd" file, does it suffer?I was understanding that the reason to save to psd or tiff, was to prevent the jpeg from being degraded. If that is true(psd prevents degradation),*when* do I convert to "psd"(or from Raw to "psd")?Only when "saving"?

Up to now, when I work in Raw,I open in the Raw Editor(ACR) and do WB,saturation, etc. Then I click "OK" and it opens as a raw file(.CR2) in the PSE3 Editor.I do work and/or sharpen and then "save as" a jpg so the raw file isn't affected. Then I close the raw file......If I open a jpg in Editor and am satisfied with the work,I "save as" a jpg with a different name to preserve the original jpg.Is all this correct? Many thanks!

The editor does not 'edit' in any format...the only time you need to be concerned with formats is when saving your work,,,always save in a lossless format..Tiff or PSD. When you want to share your work over the web first save the final psd file then click the 'save for web' button... choose your format...generally jpeg and save it. When returning to the editor do not save the changes. Close the image.
