Thanks, Patty, for that link. There sure are a LOT of links to scrapbooking freebies there. One of the links led me to: http://www.limegreenbogiegirl.blogspot.com/ which has links to a lot of great overlays.

Oh, my goodness! That's like finding an Easter basket full of chocolate eggs -- without having to hunt for them individually! :D

Chris.

An overlay is something placed over your background. It usually contains a saying but can contain things like flowers and other elements.http://store.scrapgirls.com/category.php?cat=7 here are some examples of overlays.
Hope that helped!

Thanks for sharing the link Patty.
Here's one I stumbled on last week, it has not been updated for a while but I downloaded most of what's there :)
I've yet to do a scrapbook page yet.....one of these fine days!!!!!

I don't remember seeing this link here, but this is the "ikeagoddess." She's in Germany, so her new links for the day don't get posted until the afternoon (in USA.) Every day she has tons of freebies to choose from! She does the hunting for you! I love her site & have had to be more discriminating--getting too many downloads!

Chris - this filligree overlay is from that site - I made a simple gradient background - the filligree overlay is the next layer - it's a png so it's transparent - then added a graphic and text
Not exactly innovative styling - but a simple thing that can be done in a couple of minutes

Janice,
That's lovely. I would play with the blending modes of the overlay - I bet you would get some neat effects.

Just "discovered" blending modes. Don't get me started on them or I won't get back here for a week. Soft Light - my new favorite thing.
