Red-eye removal tool

When I try to use the red eye removal tool, a splash of color appears somewhere else in my photo. It has just started to do this. Any ideas why?

As a first step try resetting the tools:

With the redeye tool selected ... look at the top of the screen to the top bar. On the far left hand side you will see a small "red eye" click on it and you will see reset tools.

If that doesn't work then try deleting the prefs file:

To do that close down Elements then click on the Editor start up icon and quickly hold down the Control, Alt and Shift keys (If you are a Mac user Apple, Alt and Shift). Continue to hold down all three keys until you get a screen asking if you want to delete Settings ... just say Yes.

Do let us know if either of these fixes the prroblem :)
