Angel,
I am not familiar with the MP800 Canon printer, but I regularly use two different Canon printers and have run into this type of problem. I offer you two possible solutions to consider:
1) Canon USA, as you may know has an excellent technical support help line that will enable consumers to access engineers and engineering issues associated with their products. The service is free if you take the time to avail yourself of this.
2) When I ran into a borderless printing issue with a Canon printer, I tried number one above and was told that the Canon printer does not support borderless printing of the size I desired. Not satisfied, I selected the next supported paper size larger and calculated where to start printing my desired size, top-to-bottom and right-to-keft. I then checked the box for borderless printing and voila I get wonderful borderless printing in the size not supported by the Canon printer. This technique may work for you. This is pretty darn simple and equivalently simple-minded if I can do it.
Best of success getting an A+ with your A5 size.
