Layers Day 10 - Elements 5

Hi there,

First time posting on this forum.

I'm on the Layers course right now. After watching the Day 10 video, I tried the trick with Elements 5. It seems to me I have to use the eraser tool to erase the mask instead painting it black to reveal the background/original photo. The paint brush tool doesn't work. Can somebody confirm?

I just watched the tutorial again & tried it out & it works fine.

Are you maybe using the Selection Brush Tool instead of the regular Brush Tool? (It's very easy to do that, something many of us have done in the past) Also make sure you've not selected the Impressionist Brush or Color Replacement Tool within your Brush Tools.

I tried it again. You're correct. Not that I picked the wrong brush tool though, but the setting of the brush tool somehow must have got messed up sometime ago. I reset it to default and it worked.

Incidentally, I found that instead of painting the sky, I could paint the land instead and get the same result if I make some re-arrangement.
