Help-brushes disappeared!

Hi everyone,
Sounds weird, but in every tool that uses brushes, I have only crosshairs, regardless of how I change the sizes. Funny thing is that the tools all work at the brush size I have selected, but the different size circles are not appearing, only cross hairs. I've tried resetting the tool and resetting all the tools and nothing. It kind of makes for working blind without the visual of the diameter circle of the brushes. I'm on my friend's PC, not my usual Mac, if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance for your help:)

Hi Carol,

It could be one of two things ... maybe the prefs are set that way on your friends PC or just check if the Caps lock is on.

Sorry forgot to say ...

if it is the Preferences then look under Preferences>Display & Cursors and change the setting to Brush Size.

She's checking the caps lock issue as we speak. In the meantime, should we be looking in displays and cursors? And if so, what should they be?

Hi Carol,

If it is the prefs then its likely that under Preferences>Display & Cursors it is set to Precise instead of Brush Size.

All set!
It was the preferences setting after all, interestingly, putting the caps lock on caused the icon of the tool to appear. Live and learn...

Glad that you have sorted it out now ... :)

The Caps lock toggles between the precise and the brush shaped cursor ... so when people leave it on by mistake they then get the same problem..
