Hi, Does any one know how to transfer text from a wordprocessing program to a 12 x 12 scrapbooking page in Elements? I want to mix geneology text with photos on the same page. Thanks.

Select and copy the text in your word processor then open Elements and use the text tool to create a text box, then paste your text.

Thanks for the reply. I looked in my Elements program (Version 3) and could not find any reference to a "text box". How do you open such a box?

On the left hand side, you should see a "T" for "Text Tool." Click on it, click on your layout where you want your text, and then "Ctrl-V" to paste in the text from your word processor.

Elements version 3 doesn't have the Text Box feature with the Text tool. I believe that started with version 5. But you can do as Trish explained and just copy the text to your image. But it doesn't wrap, so you'll have to place your cursor at each point in the text where you want the text to move to the next line and press enter.

Here is something that happened to me a few days ago as an unintended error.
This is what happened to me in Word: Highlight text, click Copy
Go into Elements: File > New > Image from Clipboard
Shazam - now you have an Elements file with one layer, your text on a white background. You can now resize it, change background, whatever and then drag that file onto the file where you want your text.

The only problem then is your text is now a graphic instead of editable text.

Hi there,
I tried inserting text from Word both ways. It was fine for printing myself. However, when I sent it to a printer they said it was at too low a resolution.
Now I'm thinking I'll have to purchase a true publishing software such as PagePlus. Has anyone else had this problem? Any solutions?

I've never had any problems, but I'm inserting text into a document that is 300 dpi. Was the text itself to low of resolution or was it the whole image?
