Hi, I probably did this the back wards way. I had to replace my burner and got behind on burning my photos to a DVD. I had near 3.5 g's in my pictures. Burnt the whole my pictures to a DVD, then tried to update the photos location in Organizer by opening the DVD in Organizer and choosing leave pictures on DVD with thumbnail on Organizer. Well, needless to say it came up saying photo's have been downloaded to hard drive, but when you check the file is missing.
I have lots of other pictures that I don't want to loose thumb nails of on other Cd's and Hard drive file locations or I would just remove all from Organizer and start over. Any suggestions for an easy way out. I know I should have burnt from Organizer but to sort out all those photos from tags and collections etc was over whelming.

I am posting a reply to this myself as I noticed a lot of people read it and might wonder what I did.

I calmed down and decided the best way was just to completely delete all the old thumbnails from my catalog. I then added the backup to My Pictures that was on a DVD. I was sure to check to leave on DVD and typed in the name of the CD.It took a few hours but actually went quite smoothly to put into catagories and tags. But with watching what had or had not been tagged I could start and stop with out getting lost. Now I have all in my catalog and off my hard drive.

I even took the time to add all my other picture CD's to the Catalog being sure to use Organizer to download only the thumbnails and be sure and check the to leave pictures on CD before I downloaded the thumbnails.
I now can make collections as I desire for special projects.

Just shows we always should read and follow directions. Just jumping in may cause a lot of trouble.
