Dan Lewin Gold is Gone

I have searched every possible word or combination of words and Dan Lewin's gold layers styles (in fact all of Dan Lewin's stuff) is gone from the Exchange. I have found a good (maybe better) replacement here:

that are free to download. For all of you searching in vain at Exchange - go get these and save a lot of headaches. Also - scroll down the page a bit and you will see other stuff by her. There is a gold stroke set that is nice too.

I have no idea what happened to his stuff but in searching the web I ran across an article about a Dan Lewin who is working on creating a software to compete with Photoshop. May not even be the same guy but who knows.

Thanks for the link. I hadn't downloaded Dan Lewin Gold, but I downloaded the new one today!:) (I know...how did I survive without the gold for gold text?!:eek: :D )

A lot of people have been asking about it and I have used it in several projects but I hate to refer them to something they don't seem to be able to get any longer. I will try to substitute this one in projects I am offering instructions on so I don't send them on a wild goose chase over at Exchange and they are able to duplicate my results.

Nancy see if this works. I tried several times to get it to link but one time it might work and another time who knows. I don't understand why this style is so hard to find but it sure is and like you said Nancy it is better not to send people to the Exchange when they can't find it after they get there. Please let me know if after you try to download and can't get it i will remove this post. Thanks for the other gold styles.

Hi Vesta - I tried and after your link got to the download page but after finding my exchange password etc, I couldn't get back to download it.:confused: It mostly offered stuff I'd gotten months ago. What a frustrating site the exchange is- too bad it's a nice concept and it did seem to work well in the past.

I've already got these styles but I tried Vesta's link and didn't have any problems. I was already logged into Adobe exchange though (I hadn't logged out from a previous visit).

I was already logged into Exchange and didn't have any problem getting the link to work. I had tried it previously though and it wouldn't work which is why I thought they were gone. That place is really screwed up.

Thanks so much for posting it again though. It seems some can get it work while others can't.

I did finally after using Vesta's tip but it still took several tries, I'd click download and it would go to the most popular or something, I think it took 4or so tries even being logged on. Once it did work I got the pearly styles too but haven't had a chance to check them out.

Well there's the problem. I tried Dan Lewin, Danlewin, dlewin, danl, lewin but the one I didn't try was dalewin. :rolleyes:

Thanks for the link - I got all 5 dalewin styles downloaded "just in case" - the one thing that did seem to work well was to add them to favorites on the exchange site. Must remember to do that next time I find something I like the look of because downloading does seem to be problematic. I also don't think IE7 really likes the site too much. I'll have to try with Firefox.

Michelle: There's Pearly, Blue, Delight, Golden and Magical. Find one, click on Dalewin's name and you'll get a screen with all 5. I'd send you copies but in total it's about 10 MB :eek:

I found my browser wasn't allowing a download. A little yellow bar at the top explained this. So when I right clicked on the bar to allow the download, it popped me into the gold download instead (then I got tossed off the internet!!) I checked into how to get the browser to allow the download and found that if I hold the control key when I click the download arrow, it does its thing. I got them all!
