Hi ...
Being a Mac user I am not going to be able to help on this one ... but hopefully one of the Windows users will be along soon and will be able to help you :)

Not sure what you mean by "effects music", or "other things"... so "maybe" Photoshop Elements will suit your needs... it does pan-and-zoom, has plenty of transitions, and lets you add music.

I use ProShow Gold, it does everything you want and more. You can even music with it, set the music to match the slide, do 1000's of transitions and just about anything else you can name.
Take a look here:

Of course for simple slide shows, elements show works fine, it just doesn't have the "kitchen sink" in it.:D

I also use and enjoy Proshow Gold. It's fairly easy to use and my few contacts with their Customer Support have been excellent.

I use Adobe Premiere Elements 3 and I really like it. You can add music, titles etc..
