need help

hi, when I first opened ps3 I downloaded some family pics into
"my pictures" and then bought them into ps3 from "files & folders". I then made a slide show and I think I transferred them by clicking and draging. I think this was the wrong way to do it because I lost the pics. I then reloaded them into "my pics" from the cd but the orginizer won't import them, it say they already exist in "my pics'" I tried the File>Catolog> Recover (both options) and that didn't work, then I tried a file search and that didn't work either. Any ideas? Rick

Can you see the thumbnail for one of the missing files in organizer? Try doing a Find by Filename for one of the missing files. If you can see a thumbnail and you know where the new file location is you should be able to reconnect it.

Hi Rick,

try going to the 'Find' in Organizer and choosing one of the options. Like Find/File name. you don't have to have the full name of the pic just the first few letters/numbers, etc. or Find/untagged items.

Then tag 'em. If you don't have an appropriate tag, creat a tag/category/etc.

that way they should up in the catalog in whatever order you selected. Just remember - Organizer prefers tags.

It worked when I shut down the computer. The next day when I started up the pics were there. Thanks for all your help,Rick

It is good that it worked, I sometimes forget the magical trick of restarting the computer as well. Why it works I don't know but it works in many cases.
