Warning - not much of a scrap page, in fact it probably will never see the light of day in one of my albums. When I was changing the paper in the chicks box this morning and saw what the headline was on the final layer - it was just so appropriate I had to grab the camera. Hope it gives you a chuckle too. :)

Jane, Now that brought a real chuckle. Which came first?:D Enjoy the sun today; I guess we're in for some more rain. Willamette Valley in the Spring. At least we aren't getting hit like our Midwest and Eastern friends.

The chicks with the stripes are the ones that will be laying those blue/green eggs. I thought it funny that they were standing on the picture of what they will be producing. In the picture on the upper right it looks like that chick is get a closer look at what she is going to be producing. I can just hear her saying "Hmmm, so thats what it's supposed to look like." :)

The others will all be brown egg layers.

Gail - we are taking advantage of this weak sun to get some burning done and then this afternoon I'm off to look at the baby goats we are going to be getting in a few weeks. If you have carpentry skills and ever feel the need to volunteer for a building project.... have I got a deal for you! :D

Jane, that is so funny. Coincidences always make a nice photo op.

Jane,
That is great! How did you end up with the baby chicks?

I bought the chicks at the local feed store. See the "Baby Kickens" (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22193) thread for pictures of when we brought them home last week.

We live on almost 5 acres and my goal is to be producing 90% of our food within 3 years. Planted an orchard earlier this spring and went to visit the dwarf dairy goats we will be getting in a couple of months this afternoon. One doeling was born March 14th, the other is only a week old. And the 3rd, well we are waiting to see what gets born next month, hoping and praying for another doeling otherwise we will have to wait and see what comes along in June. :) They have to be at least 3 months old before we bring them home - so it will be awhile before they arrive. Which is good because, while I have a housing for them I still have to to baby sized fencing for them.

And then there is the chicken coop that still needs to get built....
