I remember seeing somewhere a tutorial on how to bend or curl a corner of a page. I want to do this to one of my magazine cover projects but do not remember where I saw this at. Does anyone know where I can find how to do this. Thank you

Hey Bob,
I have spent the day playing with the one that panos has on his site.
It's a good one too.
I had fun playing around with it yesterday.
Look here:

I down loaded Rubik's Cube from Panos, but don't know how to make it work.
I tried expanding it as suggested by Panos, but my application says that it's not compresed.
Since this my firest experience with actions I'm at a loss as to how to get it to run and how I can use it.
I have CS2 and Elements 2 for Mac. Can I get some easy to follow instructions on how to get Rubik's Cube to work?
Thanks

Hi Frank ...

Which version did you download the Elements one or the CS2 one ??

You should have a zip file downloaded onto your desktop ... just double click on it and it will unzip.

The CS2 one just goes in the CS2 software folder under Presets>Photoshop Actions. Then you are ready to use it via the Actions Palette (Window>Actions)

The Elements 2 one does in the PSE2 software folder under Previews then you need to delete the cache, restart Elements and then use it via the Effects palette. (looks at these instructions ... PSE3 and PSE2 should be the same).

I don't know if they will work in PSE2 as we only tested then in PSE3, PSE4 and PSE5 ... but try them and see.

PS ... I would just use the CS2 ones that it much easier :)

Wendy, this is what is in my Presets>Photoshop Actions. folder:

Photoshop Actions
Commands.atn
Frames.atn
Image Effects.atn
Production.atn
Sample Actions.atn
Text Effects.atn
Textures.atn
Video Actions.atn

The Rubik's_s_cube,atn is still on my desktop. Should I drag it into my Photoshop actions folder? If yes, what is the next step, how do I activate in a photoshop document?

Hi Frank

OK so you are installing it into CS2 ... Just:

Drag the Rubik's_s_cube.atn into that folder
Go back to Photoshop and open up any image and crop it square.
Look over to the right and you will see the actions palette (its with the Hisory palete)
Click on the tab that says Actions
Then click on that little black triangle top right and load the cube action
A folder will appear in the palette
Click on the triangle to the left of the action name and then click on the first step of the action itself (usually next row down)
The click on the little triangle at the bottom of the Actions palette (Play Action).

hi Frank ...

They are fun to play with ... :)

If you are thinking of installing quite a few then you can actually just put them in a folder outside CS2 and load them via the little black triangle at the top of the actions palette. That way they don't slow CS2 down when it starts up :)

Wendy, when you keep the actions in a folder outside of CS2, then load them into CS2 to use via the black triangle, do you then put them back in the folder when you are through? I am a little confused.......a common occurance these days!!!!!!!
Thanks

Hi Debbie ...

When you load them into the actions palette they don;t actually move out of the folder they are in ... its just that Elements loads them in like it does when it changes brush sets.

So once you are finished with the action then you don't have to do anything with it except load up another :)
