I could use your advice on this layout. Do you think the intials (my kids are Ari & Bekah) in the semi-transparent buttons add or detract from the layout? Any other suggestions for improvement?

Hi Jane ...

I like the Initials and think that they add to it ... nice layout and a cute theme :)

There is still hope Grant - I didn't "settle down" and have children until I was nearly 40! :) My kids are the only grand kids on either side of the family so there are some really happy grandparents! :D

Sweet pictures and great layout, Jane,

IMHO the initials add nothing. Despite knowing the names of your children, my first thought would be that, for some reason, you wanted to identify as "Picture A" and "Picture B"

Having said that, I didn't find it distracting.

I think it's lovely! My proofreading experience makes me mention that it is "it's" on "its time to rise". Sorry...force of habit!

My kids are now 16 and 11 and waking them at anything before 10 a.m. is like waking three year olds at 3:30 a.m. ...

Oh, that's really a sweet one! And it will be a good memory page. On the issue of the A & B . . . I fall on the side of removing them. I do find them distracting, and not adding to the layout. But . . . as I always want to say, it's YOUR page, and if the A & B are meaningful to you, by all means keep them there! :)

I really like the layout. Great job but I agree they don't add much to layout.

Grant - I'll send a kid with a grandkid still cooking! She's driving me crazy with the "is this normal" pregnancy questions. (and yes - getting fat, throwing up and having BM's is normal):D

Jane great layout. I'm not too keen on the lettering myself. I find them a bit distracting.

Grant........will gladly ship you 3 teenagers!!!

Nancy..........Please no more.......you're scaring me for what I have to look forward too!! :D I thought I would be safe if I could just get through the teen stage.

Jane what an adorable layout!
Cute photos!
Hmmmmm I think I'd like the layout with out them.

So how was the plain ride? Did we go back to sleep?

Thanks Tina - we all slept on the flight from Philly to Cinccinati, but that is only a little over an hour. Bekah didn't sleep at all on the Cinccinati to Portland flight and Ari slept a little over half way. Unfortuantely we were in seats where the armrests were broken and didn't move, so I had a 25lb baby on sleeping on me with no way to get comfortable.

For our next trip in August to Boston he will have his own seat! :)

The return flight was a whole lot better then the outbound flight - because about 90 minutes into the first flght of our trip Bekah upchucked all over herself, me and Ari. Fortunately I had spare outfits in the carry on - so we were able to change the kids clothes, but we still had a wet seat to deal with. Couldn't get to my spare clothes in the overhead bin because the flight was too rough and they wouldn't let us open it. And there wasn't time for me to change when we landed because we had a very short layover and had to wait in line to try and straighten out the seat assignements.

We wouldn't be trying to do these cross country flights, but my FIL has cancer and is unable to travel and he wants to see his grandchildren.

Oh my Jane. I hope the trip in August is alot smoother.
These trips sound pretty important. It's good that you are doing these so they can have some time together and get to know their Grandfather. I am sure that means TONS to him. So glad you are able to do that and get the time with him. Prayers for your FIL.

Jane, they really ARE sleeping beauties aren't they? Just darling!
I like the alpha tags, but not particularly on this layout. One perhaps but not 3.

Sorry to hear about your FIL. The family will be in my prayers.
Next flight, tape a barf bag over the kid's mouth & give them something to keep them asleep for the flight. :p Just kidding, but it IS an idea. ~Nita

Thanks Nita. I think Bekah's upset tummy was just the result of a bad combo of foods. Only the second time in her life she has upchucked and she has flown many times before. But believe me after that incident we checked for bags first thing on every flight we got on.
