Did you know you could make brushes/patterns from Dingbat Fonts?

Just type the "letter" - outline using marquee
and choose edit> define pattern (brush) from selection

Make sure you save your pattern (brush) set.

Make them in black - when you use them, choose dissolve or change opaqueness to have a different look - set your foreground color to any color you want your brush to be.

Question about brushes:confused:
I DL a few this AM and they usually DL in a zip file. These just show the little blue icon that says 'brushes'. How do I get them to my brush folder or elements?
Thanks for any help!

Kim... what do you mean by a little blue icon?

I always download everything to the desktop - where it sits until I'm in the mood to fool with them.

I then unzip them and move them to the proper folder.

Things have to be unzipped first - even if the file looks unzipped

Then move only the unzipped file that says "abr"

For elements 4.0

c> program files> adobe >photoshop elements 4> presets> brushes

They came from an adobe site. In the window that shows my DL, it has an icon on the left---blue across the bottom that says 'brushes' the top of the box is white with a blue brush. To the immediate right is the name of the brush. All the way to the left it says open and remove. If I click on 'open' it opens Elements but I don't see the brush anywhere.
You know I am quite challenged at all of this:o
Thanks,
Kimh

Hi Kim ...

Do you think that you could do a screen shot and post it on Pixentral ... I'm not too sure what you are looking at

Kim,
does the brush you DL look like this?
http://www.pixentral.com/hosted/1T0fMG2YFx99S5bgicew6EJmOqwHGr_thumb.jpg (http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1T0fMG2YFx99S5bgicew6EJmOqwHGr)
screen shot of part of the brushes folder on desk top.
I know some are still zipped up, but...I'm trying to get my DL caught up:p
then I'll finish un zipping.
If so, they need to be loaded into elements from the pm I sent.

Now, another thing that just happened from over at adobe exchange...( i was only there as a support to you:D ,) I tried a DL, and only got a "blip" sound. One time it was because the pop up stopper was on,(turned it off and fine) and not sure the other.
