i hope someone can help me. i've now spent hours on this. i have created a graphic for a web design in dreamweaver. i saved it in png24 and it looks great (no background), then i check it in the browser and it has a faded gray background. is there something i am missing?

Hi there and welcome to the forum. Don't know much about it but the way transparency works in PNG's isn't supported by a lot of browsers. I think the latest (IE7 and Firefox 2) are supposed to but I think older browsers will only support transparency in GIF's. Maybe someone who knows better can explain it better :)

cinfra,
Can you preview your webpage in your browser or other browsers? I have a different web making software--and believe I tried saving as a png but it didn't show right so like you said I think I tried to save as a gif instead and then the transparency worked. Also I was able in my program to use a psd and that also worked.
I know Nancy (Nmarti ) uses Dreamweaver--maybe she will catch this thread to help you.
