These are a must have! Hopefully you have set up a brush folder outside of Elements. We went over that in Homework lesson #8.
Here is the link with the directions and it has the link to Jason's brushes at Design Fruit.
(if you do not have these brushes, shame on you!)

I have run across 2 others that work with Jason's. They have some very cool brushes. One is a kind of Dr. Seuss world. Fly Guy also has Pattern Brushes that are to die for. :D

There is one more.

All of these finds are thanks to http://spraguelab.squarespace.com/

A Huge Thanks to whoever it was that posted her link here.
I just downloaded all of mine and have not gotten a chance to play with anything. If you try some of these out. Do post a sample for us too see.

OK,
Here is something I threw together. Used Flydeco as the background and the colored ones are from Geisel Garden.:D

Kimi,
For Elements 5.0, do I need to download the layers file for the Fresh Foliage Photoshop Brushes?
The Fresh Foliage Photoshop Brushes are very lovely.

Kimi,
I like what you "threw together". Are Flydeco and Geisel Garden brushes? If they are brushes, what brush set are they in?

I just want to say what a disgusting thing you did by posting this thread...:(
I had tried staying away from brushes for several months now and was so proud of my self.:) So like an idiot I said, I will just try one or two of these, I got a few minutes. Now 6 hours later and I'm still messing with them. It's all your fault for me wasting my weekend. :D Next time post them on a Monday or something. Anyway, thanks for your thread it was fun.
Happy Easter

BAD GIRL... Bad, bad girl! You're tempting me to download another brush when you know I'm an brush / font / custom shape / scrapbook kit addict who can't stop with just one download. Aren't you ashamed of what you're about to force me to do? You're going to crash my overloaded hard drive. I won't, I won't, I...um... well... grrr..., oh d-a-r-n...what were those links again? ~Nita

Thanks Kimi,
I already had the Fresh Foliage brushes and use them a lot (I see you use them a lot too). But I downloaded the Geisel brushes. One of those sites you linked to also led me to this site with another bunch. Oh, what to do.....so many brushes and so little time!

Thought I'd post a sample of a card I made using some of these new brushes:
http://www.pixentral.com/hosted/1XQFNcPaYwezan58kYaZVdsfXiOc2V0_thumb.jpg (http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1XQFNcPaYwezan58kYaZVdsfXiOc2V0)
Mostly used Flydeco except for the flower and I can't remember which brush set that was from. Another one Kimi recommended, I'm sure.

I didn't find these at first in those links, so maybe some of you didn't find these either. Those who use and love the two Fresh Foliage sets will want these Japanese Foliage brushes:

And another card. This one using primarily the Geisel Garden brushes and a font called Grinched.

how do i make the image show up in a post?
JulieM
April 10th, 2007, 06:38 PM
Neecy: I love it - the colors are fabulous. To get the image to appear in the post: click and save the second URL link when you post to Pixentral rather than the first. Then insert that into the post where you want the photo to appear.

Neecy... how did you do the background? I love all of the different colors. :D
On Pixentral... look under your image and copy the url address on the one that says forum. Then just paste it into you post.

i was recovering from an illness and started playing around with the filters in pse. i honestly don't remember exactly how and its been a 1 1/2 years since i've made any. that one started out as autumn leaves. i've kept them, figuring i'd find something to do with them sooner or later. as soon as i started playing with the brushes, a lightbulb went off in my head! just to show you how varied the results can be, this one started out as flowers in a garden. i'll work on some kind of loose "recipe" for this if you'd like. play around, distort things! i've used so many filters like pointillize, liquify, extrude, just curious to see what they were. felt good to think outside the box.
