Save for Web & Date Issue

I'm sure there is a setting that I don't have correct. For some reason, if I open a file and then use the save for web command, after it is saved with the new name I give it, there is no time or date associated with it -- just the ?. I know I can go back in and set a date, but I thought in PSE 3 it used to automatically attach the date of the original file. Thanks in advance.

That's strange. Take a look in Preferences>Files in the Organizer and see if this box is checked:

Save for Web strips the EXIF data but with this box checked PSE5 should use the date last modified.
