Can anyone recommend a hard drive recovery service? I won't go into the gory details, but I have an external disk drive that fell off a low table on to a carpeted floor and has now seized up. Most of it was backed up, but there a few, very important files (recently added) were not. :( I know it's going to cost me a fortune, and I'd sure like a recommendation. Many thanks.

Hi, in general it's best to use the support from the manufacturer of the drive. They tend to be more aware of what occurs to their product when it hits the carpet ;)

The best way to get the data recovery software companies is to search on google. I haven't used any data recovery service, but have an idea of one such company which deals in data recovery services and data recovery software both. I have used their product for recovering my data.
I think you can consult them for the service.

Ummm ...

Seems a little strange that you have the same company as your signature    ...

I have personal experience using Stellar Phoenix recovery software. It worked for me when I stupidly deleted a partition.

I do not think that ANY software will assist if the mechanical device is "seized up"
